In this video, I share 3 very simple screencasting options that I most often recommend:

As a bonus, you will get a sense of how Zaption can be used as your video editor. In this lesson, I pulled video tutorials of each of the 3 screencasting options from YouTube and then used Zaption to: trim & combine, highlight & annotate, and add text boxes to transition between clips and clarify & emphasize parts of the video.
