I created a series of tutorials for getting started with ChronoZoom. ChronoZoom is a wonderful tool created by Microsoft Research that allows students and teachers to create rich, interactive timelines (as well, there are many timelines already created by the Microsoft team to explore). From the ChronoZoom site:
ChronoZoom is an educational tool for teachers and students who want to put historical events in perspective. A great many resources have been created already in ChronoZoom for your enjoyment and enlightenment.
Use ChronoZoom to get a perspective of the extensive scale of time and historical events relative to what happened around the world. Become an author yourself! Simply log on with your social networking credentials to record your unique perspective or tell a story that needs to be told.
I created these lessons using Office Mix and they are meant to be used with students to get them up and running in ChronoZoom. The tutorials take you from the basics of creating an account and making your first timeline through to more advanced features, such as collaborating with others and making / sharing tours. In addition to being tutorials for students, I tried to throw in some ideas for teachers on ways to use ChronoZoom for projects and ideas for collaboration on timelines.

I hope that you find these helpful. Please keep me posted on projects that you do with your classes using ChronoZoom!
