Sharing Our Love of Books Using An Old-School Payphone @CallingIshmael #edchat

When I first saw the Call Me Ishmael Kickstarter project, I was immediately hooked! What a fantastic idea – a phone that helps you discover great books.

I talked to my school and the admin was very supportive of the idea. So, we purchased a phone for this school year :)

The first project we did highlighted books faculty had read and loved. I thought this would just be a fun project geared towards helping students learn a thing or two about several Upper School teachers, but I ended up getting to know 8 of my fellow colleagues on a much deeper level! Some of the stories shared were really amazing. I ended up making a poster to go along with the phone (which was featured in the Call Me Ishmael newsletter!!)

If you’re interested in hearing some of our stories, I’ve archived them in a Soundcloud playlist, which you can find below:

I encourage you all to check out the Call Me Ishmael project (http://callmeishmael.com/) and maybe even to call in with a story of your own to share!
